Government guidance is clear - parents must ensure that their children receive a full-time education which meets their needs. Parents should plan their holidays around school breaks and not take their children out of school for holidays during term time. Where a parent wishes to take their child out of school, for whatever reason, a leave of absence form should be completed. All holiday, or leave requests will be viewed by the Head of School or Executive Headteacher. If parents do decide to take their children out of school, this will be unauthorised unless a parent can show that there are exceptional circumstances.
