At Wrawby St. Mary’s CE Primary, Physical Education (PE) is a vital part of the curriculum that equips children with the knowledge, skills and understanding to make a positive impact on their physical health, emotional wellbeing, character and personal development. We provide a broad and balanced PE curriculum that engages all pupils in a wide variety of sports and physical activities, promoting lifelong fitness habits and healthy lifestyle choices through regular opportunities in lessons, breaktimes, enrichment programs and the wider school community.
PE fosters physical confidence, resilience and self-esteem through individual and team-based challenges and supports pupils in developing the ability to cope with both success and failure, encouraging sportsmanship and our Wrawby Value of Perseverance.
Our curriculum aligns with the national curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities, are physically active for sustained periods of time, engage in competitive sports and activities, and lead healthy, active lives. PE at our school is inclusive and accessible to all, ensuring every child can participate and thrive regardless of ability or background.
